Aesthetic Device Factory Audit Checklist | LEIJEX
A factory audit sounds formal, but it is really a structured day of looking at things most suppliers would rather you did not ask about. Bring this checklist – it works on any aesthetic device factory, including ours.
Before you fly in
Confirm you will see the actual production floor (not only a showroom), ask which products run that week, and request that a quality or engineering person joins – not only sales. If dates get pushed twice, read the signal.
The walk-through: what to look at
1. Incoming inspection. Is there a dedicated area where components are checked against standards before entering stock, with records?
2. SMT / electronics. Look for AOI (automated optical inspection) after placement, ESD discipline, and board serial numbers – electronics failures are the top field-failure source.
3. Assembly stations. Work instructions at the station, torque tools calibrated, sub-assemblies labeled.
4. Burn-in / aging area. Devices running under load, with duration rules and result records. Ask what happens to a unit that fails aging.
5. Calibration and test benches. Energy output measurement per unit, gauge calibration stickers, archived test sheets.
6. Finished goods and packing. Batch labels, humidity protection, drop-test evidence for packaging.
Five questions that reveal the system
1) Show me the record for this specific unit on the bench. 2) What was your last nonconformity and what changed because of it? 3) Who signs off release, and can they say no? 4) How are customer complaints fed back into design? 5) Which certification body audited you, and when?
After the visit
Write a one-page summary within 48 hours: what impressed you, what was vague, what you would verify in the next order cycle. Then compare candidates on evidence, not on hospitality – though good hospitality never hurt anyone.

Frequently asked questions
How long should a factory audit take?
One focused day covers the walk-through and interviews for a single-site manufacturer; add a half day for document review.
Can audits be done remotely?
A live video walk-through is a useful first filter, but first orders and OEM projects justify an on-site visit.
Should we audit again after the first order?
A light re-audit every 1-2 years, or whenever volume jumps significantly, keeps the quality signal honest.
