Aesthetic Device Lead Time, Certification and Shipping | LEIJEX

Lead time surprises kill more device projects than technology does. If you are importing energy-based aesthetic devices – especially into regulated markets – plan the full chain: production, certification paperwork, shipping and import clearance. Here is a realistic planning frame.

Production lead time

For standard configurations, plan several weeks from order confirmation to ex-works; customized configurations (OEM specification level) add engineering and verification time. Ask the manufacturer for the current allocation situation, not the brochure number – factories run at different utilization across the year.

Certification and documentation

Two documents move in parallel with production: the export paperwork from the manufacturer, and the import/regulatory paperwork on your side (registration status, electrical compliance, language labeling). Start your side early – it is the most common source of dock delays. Your manufacturer should supply: commercial invoice, packing list, certificates of conformity, and test documentation you agreed in the quality annex.

Shipping modes

Devices ship by air freight (fast, higher cost, watch battery/handling declarations) or sea freight (economical, plan 3-6 weeks door-to-door to most markets plus clearance). Fixed capital equipment usually moves on pallets or in crates; confirm packaging specifications – humidity and shock protection matter for optical and vacuum systems.

A realistic end-to-end plan

For a first order of standard devices: production weeks + shipping weeks + clearance = plan 6-10 weeks from payment to installation for sea freight, faster by air. For OEM configurations, add the engineering window. For repeat orders, the chain compresses because documentation and customs codes are already in place.

Our service system covers installation and commissioning after arrival, and the manufacturing process page shows what happens inside the production window. If you are planning a launch date, contact us with the target and we will build the timeline backward from it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the fastest way to get devices into a market?

Air freight with pre-cleared documentation; for repeat orders, a small buffer stock at the distributor shortens response to days.

Who handles import clearance?

Typically the buyer's customs broker, supported by the manufacturer's export documentation set; some distributors use freight forwarders under DDP-style terms.

Do certifications need renewal per shipment?

Certificates attach to the product model, not the shipment – but documentation per shipment (invoice, packing list, CoC) must stay consistent with them.
