RF Microneedling: Delivering Electrodes into the Dermis for Precise Heating

What Is RF Microneedling?

RF microneedling inserts an array of ~0.2-0.3 mm micro-needles into skin at a set depth (0.5-3.5 mm) and discharges RF energy at the needle tips inside the dermis. Instead of heating from the surface, it heats the chosen dermal layer from within — current barely passes the epidermis, so injury is concentrated and controllable.

Insulated vs Non-Insulated Needles

Why It Addresses Multiple Problems

Downtime and Course

Erythema lasts 12-48 hours with pinpoint micro-crusts; social recovery within about a day. Standard course: 3 sessions at 4-6 week intervals; scars may need more.

LEIJEX’s gold RF microneedling platform uses insulated needles with vacuum stabilization for scars, pores and tightening.

FAQ

RF microneedling or fractional laser?

For scars with acceptable downtime, CO2 fractional; for darker skin, melasma risk, fast recovery or combined laxity, RF microneedling. The two are often staged together.

Does it hurt?

After 30-45 minutes of topical anesthesia most tolerate it well; bony zones (jawline, forehead) are more sensitive. Vacuum stabilization reduces pinprick pain and keeps depth consistent.
