Gold Microneedle RF: What the Gold Coating Actually Does

01

What Is a Gold Microneedle?

Gold microneedle is a manufacturing route within RF microneedling: the needles are gold-coated. Gold combines excellent conductivity, chemical inertness and biocompatibility — an ideal electrode material. The “gold” is first an engineering property, and second a marketing hook.

02

What the Coating Actually Delivers

  • Stable energy delivery: uniform metal coating reduces discharge scatter and output variance.
  • Biocompatibility: gold is highly inert, with low allergy and ion-leaching risk.
  • Less tissue drag: surface smoothness eases insertion and withdrawal.

That said, stainless steel and silicon can also make qualified RF needles — the coating is not the sole efficacy factor. Discharge control, depth precision, vacuum stabilization and cooling design matter equally.

Indications and Course

Same as RF microneedling: acne scars, enlarged pores, facial laxity and fine lines, axillary hyperhidrosis (dedicated modes on some systems), and adjunctive striae care. Typical course: 3+ sessions at 4-6 week intervals. See LEIJEX’s gold RF microneedling product page for specifications.

Buying Checklist

  • Insulated or non-insulated needles, and coating process stability
  • Depth stepping (0.1 mm-class preferred) and vacuum system
  • Fine energy stepping and real-time impedance monitoring
  • Disposable vs reusable handpieces (compliance and cost structure)

FAQ

Do gold microneedles leave visible marks?

At ~0.2 mm diameter the punctures close within 12-48 hours; most people show no obvious traces the next day, with transient erythema.

Gold RF microneedle vs ordinary dermaroller?

Derma-rolling is mechanical stimulation plus a drug-delivery channel, no dermal heating; gold RF microneedling adds intradermal RF heating with stronger remodeling, at different prices and downtime.
